CENTROPE Entrepreneurial Case Race 2008

The Central European Region Entrepreneurial Case Race 2008 is transnational case study competition for students of all disciplines (e.g. technical/engineering, economics/business) with good knowledge of English from Austria, Czech as well as Slovak universities, who are interested in a combination of Entrepreneurship and Finance and have already reached their bachelor or equal study level (you should be at the moment at least in the 5th semester of your studies). You need not special background knowledge about Entrepreneurship or Finance, the case is more about creativity, innovation and finding new business opportunities in these areas. It is jointly organized by the Entrepreneurship Center Vienna and the Vienna universities of Technology and Economics and Business Administration.
As start of the CENTROPE Entrepreneurial Case Race 2008, there is only a one day preselecting event in your home country. You will first work in teams created from students of different universities only from your country and evaluate a specific business opportunity in English. The event will take place at the Capgemini offices in Bratislava, Prague or Vienna.
The registration for the CENTROPE Entrepreneurial Case Race takes place as individual. The teams will be put together at the preselection respectively at the finale from the EC Vienna team.
After the preselection, the winner teams will have an intense, one-day finale event in the centre of Vienna. Students from the Czech Republic, Slovak Republic and Austria will work in newly created teams and evaluate in English the second, final business opportunity. Their findings will be presented to an expert jury which will also select the lucky winners.
Like in real world time is scarce and pressure is high - but also rewards! Besides eternal fame and a unique learning experience, the best team will win a one week trip to US Innovations-Hot-Spots in Boston (Cambridge) in autumn 2008! Expenses for flights and accomodation will be fully covered!
Teams of the 2nd and 3rd place will win the participation in the Erste Bank Summer University Danubia. It is organized by the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration in cooperation with six partner universities in the CEE region and the Erste Bank Group. The selected students from different universities of Danubia network will travel to various cities within the CEE region during July 2008! For winners of the 2nd and 3rd prizes, who can not join the Erste Bank Summer University Danubia, there will be the Discover Management Program at IEDC - Bled School Management!
